JAMB - Agricultural Science (2021 - No. 10)

Heavy infestation of liver fluke causes poor absorption of fats in livestock by
blocking bile ducts thus preventing flow of bile
destroying fat-digesting enzymes
reducing ingestion of fats
inhibiting the action of digestive enzymes

Forklaring

A liver fluke is a parasitic worm. After liver flukes have been ingested, they travel from the intestines to the bile ducts in the liver where they live and grow. They grow so much that they contaminate the bile and this affects fat-digesting enzymes.
