A cell wall is not considered a cell organelle, but rather a structural layer outside the cell membrane, providing support and protection. 

Organelles are internal, membrane-bound structures within a cell that perform specific functions, like the nucleus or mitochondria. The cell wall, on the other hand, is a rigid outer layer that surrounds certain cells, including plant and fungal cells, and some bacteria.
