The Security Council has 15 members: 5 permanent members with veto power.

The five permanent members of the UN Security Council, often referred to as the P5, are China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. These countries have the privilege of veto power, which means that any substantive resolution cannot be adopted if one or more of them cast a negative vote. Additionally, there are ten non-permanent members elected for two-year terms by the General Assembly.
